An Oak Tree of Exposition: A Collection of Sermons by Earle L. Wilson
An Oak Tree of Exposition is a collection of fifteen original, best loved sermons written by Earle L. Wilson over his sixty-five years of ministry.
Earle Wilson led from the pulpit as a pastor, as a college president, and as General Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church. He inspired, he taught, he corrected, and he cast vision through sermons. He desired to keep the Wesleyan spirit alive and challenged the current generation to act in a way that would preserve the church for the generations to come. He saw it as his sacred trust to preserve and carry the message of holiness forward and to call the church to action.
Through Scripture, exposition, song, and poetry, the reader will be challenged and convicted to continue the spiritual legacy handed to this generation and to finish well.
IN MEMORY OF Earle L. Wilson (1934–2020)
A life well lived in service to his Lord and Savior—anointed pastor, preacher, college president, and General Superintendent, and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, shall be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom. 8:37–39).
